Casmir emodi (born 14 January) better known by his stage name Uptown bwoy is a Nigerian Afrobeats and dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Abia state. Uptown bwoy originated from Ihiala L.G.A in Anambra state. The ghetto life was a reality for him but the singer always wanted more out of life for himself and his family. His lifestyle and mindset automatically led his peers tagging him the name UPTOWN BWOY even though that's not what life seemed Being brought up in the eastern part of Nigeria, Uptown bwoy grew up between two worlds; his families deep ties in business and education and him trying to figure out a career in music. But to both worlds, he was surely a resident! In a recent interview the singer has cited Jamaican stars Popcaan, Seanpaul and Nigeria singers Patoranking, Burna boy and Wizkid as his top notch musical influences. He further explained that they shaped how he sings and how he is portrayed by the public.
